Gemini double-slit gratings from Richard Brink win the Red Dot Design Award

Not only are the new Gemini double-slit gratings from Richard Brink GmbH & Co. KG functional, they also feature an impressive design, which has now been affirmed with the Red Dot Design Award 2015. The international panel of judges awarded the straight, purist design of the double-slit gratings with the additional designation of ‘Best of the Best’. The stainless steel gratings from Richard Brink can blend into the surrounding panel material so that the dewatering system beneath is virtually invisible.

The Red Dot judges, all renowned experts, awarded the Gemini double-slit gratings from Richard Brink GmbH & Co. KG with the Red Dot Design Award: Product Design 2015 for ‘highest quality and ground-breaking design’. The double-slit gratings are suitable for combined use with dewatering channels in front of façades and on terraces or balconies. The slotted channels fit elegantly and also discreetly into the surrounding panel material. Aesthetic integration in the floor or ground is made possible by casings with can be overlaid with panels. Richard Brink manufactures these casings as appropriate for any flooring material, so that the visible part of the dewatering system is reduced to a minimum. Only the two slits, with their shiny stainless steel edges, provide a contrast to the flooring.

Gratings combine function and aesthetics

The double-slit gratings from Richard Brink are available with inlet widths of 100, 140 and 200 millimetres. The panel thickness of the flooring should be 20 or 30 millimetres in order to accommodate the standard measurements. Richard Brink GmbH & Co. KG also manufactures the gratings in custom measurements and for other panel thicknesses to suit individual customer requests. The double-slit gratings and the corresponding dewatering system for heavy-duty use, such as in driveways leading into courtyards, can be also be customised. The underside of the system is reinforced for this type of use, so that it can withstand high static and dynamic loads without sustaining damage.

As the slotted channel gratings can be completely removed, it is quick and easy to clean the entire dewatering system. They therefore combine low-maintenance design with excellent aesthetics.
