Compact, elegant design: the new Basio plant boxes from the company Richard Brink.

An ideal system for versatile planting

Richard Brink expands plant box line to include new models

Whether as a standard solution or made to measure – Richard Brink GmbH & Co. KG has the perfect system to turn every outdoor planting idea into reality. Customers can choose from all kinds of configurations. The new Basio and Modular Ventus product lines offer a range of options, from sleek and compact boxes to models designed for special purposes.

Plant boxes are extremely popular among customers and have become a staple of the broad plant system portfolio offered by the metal products manufacturer. The many reference projects in this area attest to the consistently high manufacturing quality of all components as well as the company’s expertise when it comes to planning and implementing individual, bespoke solutions.

The perfect basis

Until now, the selection ranged from modular variants made of aluminium with integrated base panels over to double-walled panel constructions, right through to plant boxes with or without trough inserts. Many of these systems can be made to measure. Richard Brink’s product line also has a solution for vertical planting: the Eva living wall system offers a space-saving way of introducing greenery both indoors and out.

The range of products has now been expanded to include the new Basio and Modular Ventus models, which draw on different aspects of the existing range, allowing even greater flexibility when it comes to choosing and configuring appropriate plant systems.

The clue is in the name with the Basio planter: made of 2mm-thick COR-TEN steel, the new products offer an ideal basis for any type of planting. Both the square and the rectangular versions impress, for instance, with their compact design. With the smallest model measuring 400mm wide and deep, the plant boxes can easily be used even in the smallest of spaces. They come pre-assembled, meaning customers can plant them straight away. Thanks to their seamless welded joints, the Basio boxes are timelessly beautiful design elements with an almost monolithic appearance. The Basio model can be lined on the inside with 20mm-thick Styrodur, as needed. This reliably insulates the plants, which protects equally against frost and dehydration.

Intelligently combined

If privacy or protection against wind are priorities at the installation site, the Modular Ventus plant box system is the obvious choice. Made from 1.5mm-thick aluminium, COR-TEN steel or stainless steel, the boxes feature integrated partition walls in clear or satin glass. The Modular Ventus can be assembled in three different ways to meet different customer criteria in the best way possible: the screens can be pre-installed either to one side or across the centre of the box, allowing plants to be added to one or both sides.

If no planting is envisaged, the third option combines the partition wall on one side with an elegant seat made of steamed and oiled acacia wood. Several of the elements can be connected either in a row or around a corner to create appealing seating areas, private quiet spaces or protective screens, the latter still being of significance in the continuing pandemic.

As with the Basio model, the Modular Ventus can also be lined with Styrodur. The Modular Ventus models are available in the colours iron mica (DB 703) and traffic white (RAL 9016) as standard. They can, however, also be finished in other RAL colours upon request.

Creating a planting system in just a few clicks

Choosing the right solution for the task at hand and ensuring individual requirements are met can be tricky with such a large range of products. The metal products manufacturer now offers an online configurator specifically for its Janus raised beds and Modular plant box lines, which makes it much easier to configure the planters. All kinds of materials, shapes, dimensions and extras can be combined in just a few clicks with the user-friendly tool. This makes for a more transparent order process as every configured product is presented live as a 3D model, with all components and prices listed in detail.
